'Proclaiming Jesus Christ'

Woodland Baptist Church

Caring for Others

Prayer is vital to the life of any church family, and that is certainly the case here at Woodland.  This allows us to remain connected with one another as we bring our praises and petitions to God.  We invite you to share concerns for the purpose of bringing those before the fellowship.   Please be assured your submissions will NOT be posted on the web site.

’s “away-from-home” section is for the purpose of keeping up with those of our church family who are in military service and in college, and young folk who are beginning careers.  We are providing mailing addresses, e-mail addresses and some basic information regarding each friend and family member.  Our desire is that you use this tool to pray for these individuals and to communicate with them.  Help us out.  If you are aware of someone to be highlighted, make a contact and ask them to pass their info along to us.

Jeremy Neff

For those of you who do not know Jeremy, he was a classmate and is a very good friend of Jeremy Marrs and Michael Stewart, and very much a part of us here at Woodland.    He graduated from NCHS, and like so many, he’s off to the ends of the earth and we don’t work to keep up with him.  Thanks to a friend to passed along his e-mail address, he is back in our communication network.  FYI, Jeremy is the guy in the center, front row.  Handsome lad, don’t you think!  Keep him in your prayers. What I do, in a nutshell…. I’m the Supervisor for the Radar and Navigation work center as well as the electronics technician for the VBSS (Visit, Board, Search, and Seizure) team onboard. I’m trying out to go Navy Diver right now (think of the movie “Men of Honor”). If that works out for me, that will take me who knows where. I’ve already done 2 six month deployments, one to the Persian Gulf and the last one was a Public Relations tour through Europe.

If there is anything else you need, just let me know. Thanks for keeping me in the loop.

If anyone wants to visit the ship’s website, it’s www.monterey.navy.mil

Here are a few pics. One is where I work, the USS Monterey. The second is a few of us posing after a successful drug bust of a smuggler craft over in Europe. We weren’t allowed though to pose with the contraband like you see in the cop movies. Bummer. I hope everyone is well and if there is anything else you need, just let me know. I will get you some less menacing pictures when I get ahold of them.
